Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable machines which allow work to be completed effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the equipment and its components. System diagnostics are offered in multiple languages. On the Z-80/60 model, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for enhanced performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
Better traction for tough terrain is due to four-wheel drive and full-time positive traction. The Z-135/70 is available with four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular model comprise crab, coordinated, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the machinery more agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features truly make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to utilize on irregular terrain.
Although these units are larger than other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features such as continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable range of motion and reach. The Z-boom design gives the units outstanding up and over positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed mechanism used for both retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. When the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model machine is just 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
