Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main goal is to be able to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and big glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is gently rounded and extremely comfortable. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, in order to keep the operator working as efficiently as possible.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, overall noise levels and vibration levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable as a way to maintain an optimum working position. Moreover, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers which are provided for the window washers, horn, windscreen wipers and gear changing.
To ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for cooling, heating, defrosting and recirculation. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all within easy reach. The basic instruments that include: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. Furthermore, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, gearbox oil pressure and engine coolant.
The ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring is amongst the important options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any faults which occur and their current values.
