Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also known as a counterbalance, carries loads as heavy as 30,000 pounds. Despite being sturdy and big, these industrial machinery still bear the possible risk of crash or accident. We all know that seat belts can save lives in the event of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The kinds of seat belts that can extend both over the lap and across the upper body are the three-point seat belts. These belts provide an extra safety degree by protecting your body. They are available in both bench-seat and buckle-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are available in either retractable and non-retractable types.
Retractable seat belts are usually used in the majority of modern vehicles available. Though non-retractable types increase safety, retractable kinds provide a lot more comfort. It is truly impossible for a non-retractable seat belt to extend accidentally.
Lap belts
The kind of seat belt which only extends over the lower portion of the body is a two-point lap belt. The majority of lap belts feature a push-button closure system and are non-retractable. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and then the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type which force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These types of seat belts have a micro-switch attached that sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band kinds.
