Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the load to great heights. Regular lift trucks aren't able to move the load away from and towards the forklift cab, while a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually used in both agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater lift and control is required.
In cases requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments referred to as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It is available with a backrest that protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift will often utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This kind of system is handy for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform that is meant to lift personnel is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a chain or strap is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
