Inventor Jerome Case founded the company of CASE within Racine, when he began the building of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition globally as the initial builder of steam engines for its agricultural application. Eventually, the business grew to become the largest manufacturers of steam engines within the world.
Case had established themselves in the construction equipment industry by 1912. They became a manufacturer of road building equipment including road graders and steam rollers. Case grew their construction equipment business through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation during the year 1957. Case had expanded their company by the mid-1990s to become the leading maker of medium-sized to light-sized construction machines.
Case merged with the company New Holland during the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This company became responsible for advertising several of the leading brands of agricultural and construction machines in the globe.
